Vista del Mar Hospital partners with CSU Channel Islands to provide COVID-19 screenings

VENTURA, Calif. – Vista del Mar Hospital has partnered with the CSU Channel Islands (CSUCI) Nursing Department to provide Coronavirus (COVID-19) screenings to all hospital visitors and staff.

“We are thrilled to have student nurses helping the hospital to ensure that all individuals coming to our campus are screened following the CDC-recommended screening process,” said Jenifer Nyhuis, Vista del Mar’s CEO. “This gives us greater peace of mind knowing that we are doing all we can to reduce the risk of exposure to our patients, staff and visitors.” Student nurses are conducting COVID-19 screenings from 7 am to 7 pm of all incoming persons to the hospital. During the devastating Thomas Fire, which destroyed much of the hospital campus, Nyhuis took early action to evacuate patients.

VENTURA, Calif. – Jenifer Nyhuis, CEO of Vista del Mar Hospital in Ventura, has received the 2019 Šimanek Distinguished Service Award from the California Hospital Association Center for Behavioral Health.
