I am excited to announce that we had our grand reopening for our inpatient facility on December 5, 2018! This is exactly one year from the devastating Thomas Fire that damaged the hospital and our Ventura community. We are now open for adolescent and adult inpatient services. In addition, Vista Outpatient Services has been open since April, and we have programs for both adults and adolescents. These programs are either 3 or 5 days per week. They serve as a way to prevent hospitalization and/or to assist an individual with more intensive therapy following an inpatient hospitalization.
We are dedicated to live out our vision—ensuring that we are compassionate, we create a safe environment, and that there is true meaning in the treatment that we provide. I want to thank our community for the tremendous support we have received throughout this past, challenging year. We could not have opened the hospital just 10 months after the devastating Thomas Fire without the care of our community.
I know that most who come to our facility are experiencing some of the worst times in their lives, and it is important to recognize that our goal is to treat every patient as a beloved family member. I have a commitment to ensure that we are a hospital that values kindness, respect, and dignity to all individuals and their families.
In closing, I began this work because I wanted to make a difference for people who are going through difficulties in their lives and who need a safety net where they could rest and find healing. I am dedicated to our mission and vision, and I hope that you find your care at Vista del Mar Hospital to be meaningful.
Thank you and be well,
