Military and Veteran mental health care should be provided in a way that is consistent with and informed by military culture. At Vista del Mar Hospital, our multidisciplinary teams address the unique and powerful issues that confront active duty members and Veterans and provide only the most effective and appropriate treatment methods.

What Types of Treatment Are Available?

Our discharge planning and step-down process allows for patients to transition smoothly from the inpatient to outpatient programs.

Military Mental Health Care for Dependents

When a member of the military is deployed, it can be traumatic for those who are left at home. The same is true for when veterans return and are dealing with the many issues that accompany a tour or tours overseas, and their family members are trying to understand and help.

At Vista Del Mar, we offer short inpatient hospitalization services for stabilization in a crisis situation. Our services are available to adolescents ages 12-17, as well as adult family members/dependents. Our detox and dual diagnosis programs are also available to military spouses and dependents.

How Do I Take Advantage of the Program?

Active duty military members should consult with your mental health providers on base or at your Military Treatment Facility (MTF). Veterans who are seen at the VA should consult your VA mental health provider or primary care doctor. Veterans using private insurance should contact the hospital directly.
