Medical Director

Steven Ruths, M.D. is the Medical Director of Aurora Vista del Mar Hospital in Ventura, California. Dr. Ruths completed his residency at the University of Maryland/Sheppard Pratt Program in General Psychiatry and his fellowship at The UCSD Children’s Hospital in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry where he served as chief fellow. Dr. Ruths coauthored a review article on the treatment of aggression in adolescents in the May 2004 Pediatric Annals. He was a Janssen Scholar for his research in dissociative disorders in adolescents while at Sheppard Pratt and was a member-in-training representative to the Maryland Psychiatric Society. Dr. Ruths also has a private practice in Ventura.

Aaron Godwin, MD

Director of Adolescent Services

Aaron Godwin, MD, is the Director of Adolescent Services at Vista del Mar Hospital. He is a graduate of the University of Florida College of Medicine in Gainesville, Florida. He completed a residency in General Psychiatry and then additional subspecialty fellowship training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, both at the Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia. He is board certified in both General Psychiatry and in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Godwin has treated people of all ages with emotional and behavioral problems in all levels of care, including outpatient, intensive outpatient care, intensive family intervention, partial hospitalization, acute psychiatric inpatient hospitalization, and psychiatric residential treatment in both the public and private sector for over ten years.

Manju Beatty, M.D.

Psychiatrist

Dr. Manju Sharma-Beatty received her medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine in the Commonwealth of Dominica, West Indies in 2001. In 2005, she went on to study psychiatry at the State University of New York at Buffalo Medical Center. Dr. Beatty has given presentations highlighting topics such as personality disorders in hospitalized patients, the role of genetics in Psychiatry, sexual side-effects of antidepressants and has contributed to the publication “Role of Antidepressants and Psychotropics in Sex Therapy”. Dr. Beatty worked as Assistant Clinical Instructor for 3 years teaching and supervising medical students and interns all while developing communication skills protocol. Dr. Beatty has a special interest in Pharmacotherapy during perinatal and postnatal period of pregnancy.
