Turning Point Foundation established in 1988 offers community based mental health programs to address a full range of human needs including: homeless shelters, supported housing and rehabilitation. Corliss Porter, Clinical Director for Turning Point Foundation, will discuss Truama Informed Care and the Evidence Based Practices (EBP) used by Turning Point.

Vista del Mar Hospital will host "Horses Healing Heroes with Honor: An Experiential Equine Psychotherapy Approach", featuring guest speaker Julie Sardonia, LMFT, Founder and Executive Director of Reins of H.O.P.E. Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) uses horse as co-therapists for emotional growth and learning. Julie will speak about the effectiveness of (EAP) in developing resilience and adaptability in civilian, as well as military life. Equine sessions involve no riding and they assist in developing coping skills for PTSD, Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), anger, depression, addiction and grief.
