Lunch and Learn

Aurora Vista del Mar Hospital is dedicated to serving Ventura & surrounding counties as the primary resource in the Mental Health field. Involvement with community health fairs, professional association events and sponsoring of various trainings for other service providers are an important part of the hospital mission.

On a quarterly basis, Vista del Mar Hospital offers a workshop for area Mental Health Professionals covering topics related to dealing with mental illness, social aspects, and professional issues/challenges. These workshops are called Lunch and Learn and are held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m. and the speaker will begin at 12:00 p.m.

In Our Own Voice — NAMI Ventura County
In Our Own Voice (IOOV) is a unique public education program developed by NAMI, in which two trained consumer speakers share compelling personal stories about living with mental illness and achieving recovery.
Throughout the IOOV presentation, audience members are encouraged to offer feedback and ask questions.

Crisis Intervention: Who to Call and When.
Please join us for this informational Lunch & Learn as a panel of professionals from the Crisis Intervention Team (CIT), Adult Crisis Team, Children’s Intensive Response Team (C.I.R.T.) and Patient Advocacy talk about crisis intervention. The panel will also discuss voluntary vs. involuntary hospitalization and hold criteria.

Adolescent Mental Health Resource Fair & Presentation
Back by popular demand. We are putting together the best of the best adolescent resources. We asked Aurora Vista’s Adolescent Case Managers to select the resources they felt you should know about. In addition please bring your re-source materials to share. We will have two community resource tables for everyone to share their materials with other professionals.

This course meets the qualifications for 1 hr of CEU credits for MFT & 1 for LCSW as required by the Board of Behavioral Sciences of California-PCE 412 Ca. Board of Nursing Provider #12997.

If you or a colleague would like to present in your area of expertise, we would love to have you as our speaker at a future Lunch and Learn event. All that is required is a copy of your curriculum vitae and an outline of the presentation you would like to give. Once the topic is deemed appropriate, we will schedule you for the next available presentation.
